Aldridge (Pete) Bousfield passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 4.
Pete is survived by his sister and two cousins. They can be reached through
his cousin James (Jamie) Beranek at: jamieber at usa.net Due to Pete's
preferences, no memorial service will be held.

Pete received his PhD from MIT in 1966, then spent a few years at Brandeis
University before joining the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1972. He
became a Professor Emeritus in 2000, but continued to come to his office
regularly. Pete was named an AMS Fellow in 2018. Pete's work in algebraic
topology had a deep impact on me and on the field.
