This is a reminder that the application deadline for the program described
below is August 15th.

*AWM Workshop on Homotopy Theory for Women Graduate Students and Recent
PhDs*

The Association for Women in Mathematics is sponsoring a workshop focused
on Homotopy Theory at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Antonio, January
10 - 13, 2015. The workshop will include a poster session presented by
graduate students and a series of talks by both senior women and recent
PhDs.

The following researchers have agreed to speak:

Julie Bergner
Teena Gerhardt
Kathryn Hess
Ulrike Tillmann

We would like to invite recent PhDs in the field of Homotopy Theory to
apply to participate in the workshop and give a 20-minute talk. To be
eligible a recent PhD must have received her PhD within approximately the
last five years. The associated graduate student poster presentations will
be chosen from all fields of mathematics. To be eligible for selection and
funding, a graduate student must have made substantial progress towards her
thesis. AWM will offer partial support for travel and hotel accommodations
for the selected participants. The workshop will also include a reception
and a luncheon where participants will have the opportunity to meet with
other women mathematicians at all stages of their careers.

The poster presentation and talks are open to all attendees of the JMM and
hence present a unique opportunity to showcase young researchers to a large
audience.

Application Deadline: August 15, 2014; the application submission link will
be available in early July at the link below.
All applications should include: a title, abstract, cv, and a letter of
recommendation (for graduate students this letter should be from the thesis
advisor.) For more details see:
